Dr. Douglas Tomlinson

Dr. Doug Tomlinson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta. Doug has a passion for structural engineering design, research, and education. His research activities focus on concrete reinforced with fibre-reinforced polymers, connections between concrete and steel members, insulated exterior walls, slender masonry walls, and bridge assessment. Doug is active on building code and design guide committees in the American Concrete Institute, is an associate editor of the Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering, and is a member of the editorial board of the American Society of Civil Engineering’s Journal of Composites for Construction. Doug has taught EngG 130 for 2 years.
